Rates

Chance (by prior arrangement only)

House Calls with Chance, Monday - Friday between 2 PM and 5 PM: . . . . . . . . . . . . . $100/hr
House Calls at any other time (Emergency Rate) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $120/hr

A one-hour minimum charge applies to all house calls. A two hour minimum applies to locations more than 30 minutes' drive from Swissvale, but may be waived if the issue cannot be repaired remotely. Additional time beyond the minimum is rounded to the nearest half-hour.

Discounts available for prepaid blocks of 5 hours.

I sometimes have emergency availability at 9:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday, or on Sunday afternoons. Please call me if you need one of these times.

Payment Methods

I accept cash, personal checks, and business checks. Businesses may mail a check within one week of service completion, if payroll procedures require it.

Emergencies

An emergency is any situation in which you need me to work outside my normal work hours or to ask another client if they can reschedule. In those instances only, my emergency rate (time and a half) will apply. Please be aware that I will never cancel any appointment without your consent, except for a genuine personal emergency (such as a family crisis, major car trouble, or a serious illness).

Cancellations

At least 24 hour cancellation notice is preferred and appreciated. Cancellations beyond 8 PM the night prior to an appointment are subject to a one-hour minimum charge, except in genuine emergencies. This includes same-day cancellations.

Work Done by Others

We have no expectation that you will deal only with us for your technology support needs. However, other technicians (or amateur friends / family members) do sometimes remove our security or remote access software. Any time we need to spend reinstalling those programs, or reversing changes made by someone else, will always be billable. We strongly recommend contacting us to ask what is safe to remove, before allowing anyone else to make changes to your computer.
